for Week of November 10, 2003
Stearns County: Residential Burglary
Sometime prior to October 24, 2003, someone
entered a residence on Clear Lake Road in Farming Township and removed
several guns including rifles, shotguns and a handgun. The home owner is
also missing a violin. Stearns County Sheriff: Criminal Damage to Property
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office is seeking
information in reference to ongoing damage to the Leighton Broadcasting
Tower located at the intersections of County Road 9 and County Road 40 in
Farming Township. On or around September 12, 2003, the tower was damaged
by vandals shooting it with a shotgun. Over the weekend of November 8-9,
2003, it was damaged again by gunfire. Between the two
incidents, damage exceeds $20,000. St. Cloud Police: Vehicle Vandalism
St Cloud Police are investigating several vehicles that
were vandalized overnight, November 10th to the 11th. These incidents
occurred between 1:00 AM and 8:00 AM. Over one dozen vehicles had their
windows smashed (mostly rear windows). Most of the vehicles were in the
southern portion of the city (South of Division St.) from the campus to CR
74. The damage could be several thousand dollars. Stearns County Sheriff and St. Cloud Police: Home Invasion Robberies
The Stearns County Sheriff and the St. Cloud
Police are investigating two home invasions that have occurred within the
past week. 3-4 armed males have entered the residences demanding drugs and
money. The invasions appear to be organized and well planned. The first
occurred on 10-31-03 near Cold Spring and the second on 11-3-03 in St.
Cloud. Authorities are working together to determine if they are related.
Stearns County Sheriff: Theft
On 10/23/03, the SCSO received a report of a
theft from a van at Bel Clare Estates Mobile Home Park in St. Joseph Twp.
Unknown persons had entered a locked van on Arbor Street and stole 50
adult size t-shirts, 25 child size t-shirts, and an undisclosed amount of
zippered cases. The shirts were stored in plastic tote cases, ready for
resale at various events. (See similar case below, from last week.)
Stearns County Sheriff: Theft (From week of November 3, 2003)
On 10/18/03 the SCSO received a report of a
theft from a storage shed at a private residence on Arbor Street in Bel
Clare Estates. Unknown persons entered a storage shed and stole a Toro
power blower, a jig saw, and a socket set.
