Stearns County Sheriff: Stolen Snowmobiles
On 11/24/03, the SCSO received a report of
stolen snowmobiles and trailer from a private home on CR141, Kimball.
Unknown persons had driven a vehicle onto private property and hooked up
to a trailer loaded with two snowmobiles and left the area. Stolen were a
1993 Polaris Storm, registration BE7871, black w/pink & blue striping, and
a 2000 Polaris XCF440 Edge, registration CT2491, red with yellow striping.
Additionally, the two place trailer was black with wood planking in the
center area and a 1 7/8" hitch. The trailer was not registered.
Investigation at the scene showed an unknown vehicle had entered the
property off CR 141 and driven down a field road to reach the location
where the snowmobiles were stored.
St. Cloud Police: Robbery
At 9:35 PM on December 13th, St. Cloud Police
were called to the Tom Thumb store, 2715 Clearwater Road relative to an
armed robbery that had just occurred. A man walked into the store,
displayed a gun and demanded cash from the clerk. The robber left the
store with an undetermined amount of cash. Police don’t know if the man
ran or drove away. Police officers and a dog searched the area, but didn’t
find the suspect. Stearns County
Sheriff: Criminal Damage to Public Property (From week of December 1,
2003)
The Stearns County Sheriff is investigating a series of vandalisms and
criminal damage to public property cases in Oak Township, South of
Freeport.
Specifically, 17 street and traffic control signs have been damaged or
stolen. These crimes were committed over the weekends of July 12th, 2003
and November 15, 2003.

Stearns County Sheriff: (From week of March 24, 2003)
On 3/23/03 the
Stearns County Sheriff received a report of stolen snowmobiles at Powder
Ridge ski area over the course of a snocross event. Two skidoo racing
machines were stolen, one 2002, the other a 2003. The snowmobiles were on
a trailer, the trailer was recovered north of Cold Spring on Heritage
Road. The racing numbers displayed on the machines are 134, and 448. They
had no MN registration as they were racing snowmobiles.
