Crime Stoppers Open Cases
for Week of March 24, 2003

St. Cloud Police:

On 03-21-03 at 2:36 AM, officers were dispatched to an alarm at U PIK KWIK, 1100 4th Avenue South. Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that unknown persons had forced their way into the rear door of the business. After entering the building, they attempted to disable the alarm but apparently were unsuccessful. The suspects stole money from the cash register and safe. The suspects fled the scene prior to officers' arrival The suspects left evidence that was collected at the scene.  Poster Available: U-Pik


Stearns County Sheriff:

The Stearns County Sheriff is investigating 3 cabin burglaries reported on 3/20/03. Unknown suspects forced entry to 3 cabins on Elmway Rd on Horseshoe Lake south of Richmond. As yet no property has been reported missing.

The Stearns County Sheriff is investigating a series of vehicle break ins in the city of Holdingford occurring during the weekend of march 15-16. Seven vehicles were vandalized and had property stolen from them, including several car stereos.

St. Joseph Police:

The St. Joseph Police Department is investigating two burglaries that took place sometime during the evening of March 20. Lee's Ace Hardware and Hollander’ Liquor Store were both entered and an undisclosed amount of items were taken. Entry was made through holes that were cut through the outside walls of the building. Detectives from the Steams County Sheriff’s Office assisted the St. Joseph Police Department in their investigation.

Stearns County Sheriff:

On 3/23/03 the Stearns County Sheriff received a report of stolen snowmobiles at Powder Ridge ski area over the course of a snocross event. Two skidoo racing machines were stolen, one 2002, the other a 2003. The snowmobiles were on a trailer, the trailer was recovered north of Cold Spring on Heritage Road. The racing numbers displayed on the machines are 134, and 448. They had no MN registration as they were racing snowmobiles.

On 3/24/03 at approximately 8:00 AM the Stearns County Sheriff was dispatched to 10906 Co. Rd. 131, in Brockway Township near Rice, with regard to a burglary in the 3rd degree complaint. Upon initial contact, the complainant informed the investigating officer that on 3/23/03 at approximately 6:00 PM, he locked his utility shed containing a Honda ATV. At 7:45 AM on 3/24/03 noticed the overhead door of the utility shed was tied open using a small piece of rope and one of the other doors had pry marks located near the lock. When the owner entered the shed he noticed that his Honda ATV was missing. The ATV is a 2001 Honda Forman 450 4-wheeler with MN registration #997KQ and was valued at approximately $5,000.
