Crime Stoppers Open Cases
for Week of June 30, 2003

Cold Spring Police:

During the evening hours of 6-30-03 until 07-01-2003 someone vandalized a spring house and a slippery slide in Pioneer Park of cold spring. The damage is estimated to be over $500.

On 6-19-03 during the evening hours someone broke a window out of the Pioneer Park shelter. Estimate damages are $40.00 plus labor.

An employee of the city of cold spring reported that the Springer’s Park concession stand was broken into. Police arrived and photographed the door which was kicked in. A very light foot print was noticed near the deadbolt lock. They then found various boxes of candy located near the east dug out. Employees may or may not be able to provide a good inventory of the missing items. It does not appear that beer was taken.


The city of cold spring will add $250.00 to the crime stoppers reward.

Sherburne County Sheriff:  (From week of May 19, 2003)

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department is seeking assistance from the public in locating three individuals allegedly involved in a theft from the Briggs Lake General Store on May 11, which was Mother’s Day.
According to Chief Deputy Scott Gudmundson, three males, estimated to be in their early to mid twenties, entered the store when it opened at approximately 7 a.m. While one of the suspects distracted the clerk at the front of the store the other two allegedly stole deposit bags from the safe and removed a VCR connected to the store’s video surveillance system.

Suspect 1 is described as a darker-complexioned white male, approximately 5’8” tall weighing 150 pounds. Also noted was the suspect’s heavily-gelled hair.
Suspect 2 is described as a white male with brown hair, approximately 5’11” tall weighing 170 pounds.
Suspect 3 is described only as a white male.

The three suspects arrived and left in a vehicle described as a white, 4-door car.

St. Cloud Police:  (From week of April 28, 2003)

The St. Cloud Police are looking for the public’s assistance in locating a stolen BMX style bicycle.

The bicycle was stolen from a garage at 1323 West Oaks Drive in St. Cloud, sometime between 9:30 PM and 9:45 PM on April 28th,

The bicycle is custom made with a “STAATS” bike frame which is white with yellow lettering. Across the frame is the word, “STAATS” and the handle bars are also yellow. The bike has a black and blue colored seat and there is a removable number plate on the front of the bicycle with the number “Seven”.

The value of this bicycle is over $2,200.00.

St. Cloud Police:

On 6-27-2003, at 10:40 PM, St. Cloud Police and Fire Department were dispatched to 800 11th, Street So., regarding a vehicle fire. Upon arrival, the vehicle was fully engulfed and put out by the fire department. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was set on fire.

Sherburne County Sheriff:

The Sherburne County Sheriff's Department is seeking assistance from the public in apprehending a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred at the Total Entertainment Center in Zimmerman on Sunday, June 22 at approximately 1:50 PM. The suspect is described as a white male, late 30's to early 40's, approximately 5' 8" to 5' 9", stocky build, shoulder length brown hair and clean-shaven face. Suspect was wearing a dark colored baseball hat, dark colored long-sleeve T-shirt, and jeans. The suspect displayed a silver handgun with a black handle and forced the clerk to give him the cash from the register. Below is an artists rendering of the suspect created from eyewitness accounts.

Waite Park Police:

The Waite Park Police Department is investigating a burglary that happened at Independent Testing Technologies on 31st Avenue S in Waite Park. The burglary occurred in the evening hours of June 24th and the early morning hours of June 25th.

Entry was gained by breaking out the front glass door. Taken from the business was one computer monitor.

St. Cloud Police:

ON 6/16/03 officers responded to Oak Hill Elementary, at 2600 oak grove road, for a vandalism report. Sometime over the weekend someone shot out five windows and two glass doors on the back side of the building. It appeared as though a bb gun or something similar was used to damage the windows.

On 06/25/031 officers again responded to Oak Hill School for another vandalism to a window complaint. Sometime overnight someone smashed out a window in the back of the building using a shovel that had been left outside by some landscape workers.

St. Cloud Police:

St Cloud Police are investigating shots fired into vehicles and a business overnight. Police took reports of two vehicles that had windshields shot out while parked in the Holiday Inn parking lot overnight. Also overnight a window on Burger King (west) was shot out. Police recovered the jacket and pieces of lead from that business
