St. Cloud Police: (Repeat from week of July 14, now including a sketch of the suspect.)

On 7-15-03 at approximately 10:33 PM, officers from the St. Cloud Police Department were dispatched to Premier Tabs, 2820 2nd St S to investigate an armed robbery. Upon arrival officers learned the suspect entered the business armed with a baseball bat and a revolver demanding money. The suspect fled on foot southbound. The Waite Park Police Department’s K-9 and the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department assisted the St. Cloud Police Department in searching for the suspect. The investigation is on going.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 20-30 years of age, with short hair with blonde spikes in it. He was wearing a hospital scrub suit and a hospital surgical mask.

Avon Police and Stearns County Sheriff:

On Sunday, 7-27-03, the Avon Police Department responded to reported attempted break in at Midtown Bar in the early morning hours of Sunday, July 27, 2003. It was discovered that suspects attempted to break in through the back door using what appears to be a red pry bar approximately 1 3/4 inch in width. The door at the Midtown Bar was pried on but no entry occurred.

At approximately 07:30 AM, on Monday, 7-28-03 the Avon Police Department responded to the Church of St. Benedict Parish Office on the report of a burglary. Upon arrival officers discovered the window on the parish office door to be smashed out and entry gained into the office through the door. Again, it appears that a red pry bar of some type was used in this incident. All the file drawers in the church office were pried open; however, it appears that nothing was taken in this incident.

It should be noted that the suspect(s) may have cut themselves as there was significant amount of blood left at the scene.

No one had been in the church office on Sunday and due to the similarities of the incidents, the Police Department believes that they both may have occurred in the early morning hours of 07-27-2003.

Waite Park Police:

The Waite Park Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at the 200 block of 6th Avenue North on July 11, 2003. Removed from the residence were DVD’s, a cell phone. No forced entry.

On July 26, 2003, the Benton County Sheriff's Office received a call that a man had been shot by a robber at Sugar Daddy's on Hwy 10, North of Sauk Rapids.

Two male and one female employee of Sugar Daddy's had just locked up the business at approximately 4:40 am when they were approached in the parking lot by a masked individual armed with a short barrel shotgun. The suspect herded the three employees to the south end of the building and was in the process of tying them up, when a struggle ensued and the victim employee was shot in the stomach area.

The male victim, a 38 year old St. Cloud resident, is listed in stable condition at the St. Cloud Hospital after being transported there in a private vehicle. For his own safety, the victim's name is being withheld during the initial investigation.

The suspect is described as white male, 5'-07", thin build, light blue jeans, dark shirt and wearing a dark gray ski mask. He was armed with a sawed off shotgun. He ran from the scene and no vehicle description is known. The robber made off with an undetermined amount of money taken from the female employee.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, the Minnesota State Patrol and the Sauk Rapids Police Department. The investigation continues.
