Officers were able to locate the damaged vehicle at 814 9th Street South. They were approached by the complainant, who advised them that he witnessed some males throw a ladder through the window of the vehicle and damage the passenger side window. The complainant was unable to give a description of the males or their clothing.

St. Cloud police:

On 8/25/03 a foreman for the Bauerly brothers company, called headquarters to report one of his company's pieces of equipment had been damaged. A nine wheel road packing machine was parked facing south in the 900 block of 8th avenue south, just north of 10th street. Sometime after 1800 hours on 8/22/03 and before 0600 hours on 8/25/03, at least two persons climbed on the machine and tampered with the machine. The muffler on the engine was ripped off, the gauges in front of the operator's seat were smashed, all of the external warning lights were taken off and broken, the strobe on the very top of the machine was broken, wires were ripped out, and the engine may have been tampered with. Also an unknown black tar like substance was thrown on the machine. Police found at least two separate sets of foot impressions on the machine. The foot impressions probably belonged to males due to the fact they were approximately ten to eleven inches in length. One may have been some type of a boot, where the other appears most likely to have been from a tennis or athletic shoe.
