St. Cloud Police: Hit and Run
The St. Cloud Police Department is asking the public to provide any
information concerning a possible suspect in a hit and run accident that
occurred at Highway 23 and Washington Memorial Drive.
On 01/20/05 at approxi1mtely 0245 hours a witness saw a newer white
pickup, possibly a Ford, without a topper traveling westbound on Highway
23. The witness then saw this pickup drive into the median, striking a
traffic light in the center of the median. The vehicle caused
approximately $2,000 worth of damage.
The vehicle left westbound on Highway 23 and is believed to have
significant damage to the front of the vehicle from the accident.
St. Cloud Police: Purse Snatching
Police
search for purse-snatcher St. Cloud police are searching for a man who
stole an elderly woman's purse Thursday. A 72-year-old woman told police
she was robbed at the St. Cloud Public Library, 405 West St. Germain St.
The woman said she was leaving the library when a man grabbed her purse
and ran north through the alley. Police searched for the suspect but
didn't find him.
Sherburne County
Sheriff: Suspicious Activity, Possibly Child Molester
(From week of January 10, 2005)
The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Department is seeking assistance from the
public in locating a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle is described as a
black sport utility vehicle or pickup with a red stripe down the side. The
driver of the vehicle approached two young children in a Big Lake Township
neighborhood and asked if they had seen his puppy dog. The children ran
into their home and the vehicle immediately left the area.
Approximately one week earlier, the same or similar vehicle was seen
driving through the same neighborhood, slowing down in front of residences
and trying to talk to juveniles in the area. The truck left the area very
fast after an adult attempted to see the driver of the vehicle. The driver
is described as a white male, 20-30 years old with black spiky hair. The
incidents described above occurred during approximately the last week of
Dec. 2004. As of Jan. 10, residents had not seen the vehicle return to the
neighborhood.
St. Cloud Police:
Robbery (From week of January 10, 2005)
On 01/09/05 at 2359 hours officers were dispatched to Blockbuster Video,
at 3356 Division Street West, in reference to an armed robbery that had
just occurred. Employees of the business stated that a white male had
entered the business displaying a handgun and demanded money.
The male was described as being approximately 5'8", 175 pounds, wearing
blue jeans, a gray hooded sweatshirt, black ski mask, approximately 35
years of age, with blue eyes. The suspect fled the area prior to police
arrival and is believed to be in possession of approximately $1,000 in
paper money from the business. The St. Cloud Police Department is asking
the public to report any additional information they may have concerning
this crime.
