St. Cloud Police:  Additional Information Needed in Murder Investigation

On 01/28/05 at approximately 1430 hours, the St, Cloud Police Department was advised by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension of information pertaining to the death of Lawrence Vernon Blais, DOB: 25/28/1943, St. Cloud.

The body of Blais had been located in a remote area of Hubbard County, Minnesota, in the fall of 2003.  An investigation into the death of Blais by Special Agents of the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and Hubbard County Sheriffs Department, has resulted in the arrest of Terra Kraft Waters, DOB: 03/08/59, St. Cloud.  Waters was a girlfriend of Blais at the time of his death.  

The homicide apparently occurred in St. Cloud at 111 13tl1 Avenue North, sometime previous to the body being discovered.  Waters was booked into the Steams County Jail pending a charge of 2nd Degree Murder by the Steams County Attorney's Office.

St. Cloud Investigator's are attempting to locate additional individuals of interest who may have information pertaining to the events that led to the death of Blais. Cold Spring Police: Two Residential Burglaries

On Saturday 1-29-05 the Cold Spring Police Department took two complaints of residential burglaries. The person(s) responsible used strong arm force on each of the burglaries to gain entrance. Once inside the burglar(s) stole jewelry and cash.

These is the same method of operation used in the previous 6 forced entry residential burglaries over the recent holiday season in Cold Spring. All of the burglaries occurred during the early evening hours with some as early as 6:30 PM.

Residents are asked to watch their neighbors homes and report anything suspicious to Police.

Benton County Sheriff: Residential Burglary

On January 24, 2005, a residential burglary was reported at 8420 Ivy Place N.W., Rice, MN, Watab Township. The burglary occurred between 7:30 A.M.-2:11 P.M, on January 24, 2005. The suspect(s) forced the front door open to the residence.

The following items were taken during the burglary; Ruger, Model P-90, .45 caliber, semi-automatic pistol Jennings, Model BRYCO 59, semi-automatic pistol Holster, approximately $300.00 in change, and jewelry.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary

On 01/28/05 at 1906 hours officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Atwood Drive, in reference a burglary. The investigation revealed $700 in $100 bills, a large number of silver dollars, half dollars, dimes, and traveler's checks were taken from the residence.

A suspect or suspects gained entry through unlocked garage service doors and kicked in the door leading from the garage into the residence.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary

On 01/28/05 at 2106 hours officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Atwood Drive, for a burglary complaint. During the course of the investigation officers found the same kind of disarray in the residence as in case 045004676:

Dresser drawers had been pulled out and clothing was lying on the floor. A mattress was partially pushed off the box spring. The front door of the residence had been kicked in. There did not appear to be my electronics missing.

Stearns County Sheriff: Snowmobile Theft

On 1/24/05, the SCSO received a report of two stolen snowmobiles and a trailer from the area of Big Fish Lake. One of the snowmobiles was recovered in Wright County, and the trailer was recovered at a private home on Galaxy Road in St Augusta. Still missing is a red 1991 Polaris Indy, registration #BU8239.
