Crime Stoppers Open Cases
for Week of October 10,  2005

St. Cloud Police: Special request for Information  (Click here for poster that can be printed and posted.)

The St. Cloud Police are looking for anyone with information on the death of Douglas Copper.

On 09-30-05 at approximately 1057 hours, officers from the St. Cloud Police Department were sent to 3711 3rd St. No.

Douglas Copper, AKA “Casper”

Upon arrival, officers found a 48 year old male lying in the parking lot with a head wound. The victim was identified as Douglas Copper, AKA "Casper", residing at that same address.

Copper was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital, where he later died. Persons with information on how Copper received his injuries or had interaction with him that morning are asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301 or 1-800-255-1301.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglaries

On 10/12/05 at approximately 0800 hours officers were dispatched to 1320 32nd Avenue North for a burglary.

This address is an office building containing several businesses. Each of the businesses was broken into with a significant amount of damage done to the building and numerous items stolen.

This would have occurred between 10/11/05 at approximate1y 1700 hours and on 10/12/05 at 0800 hours.

Sherburne County: Multiple Case Summaries (18)

Sept 20th, a high tension electric cord for a grain auger had been cut off at a farm business on 77th St in Clear Lake Township. Damage is estimated at $100.

Sept 20th, a utility truck was broken into on 77th St in Clear Lake Township. Items taken include electric cords and anything copper along with assorted tools. Loss is valued in excess of $250.

Sept 23rd, a resident of 165th Ave SE in Becker Township reported the theft of a Sanyo DVD remote control valued at $20.

Sept 24th, a resident of 165th Ave in Santiago Township reported the theft of a 25 hp Evinrud outboard motor from his boat. Value is $1,500.

Sept 24th, a residence located on 311th Ave in Baldwin Township was broken into and a number of household items taken. Loss is estimated at $3,225.

Sept 25th, a resident of 95th Ave SE in Clear Lake Township reported her residence broken into and numerous items taken.
Loss is estimated at $6,340.

Sept 25th, a resident of Big Lake reported his storage unit located at the Big Lake mini storage on Hwy 10 in Big Lake Township had been broken into. Several items were taken; loss is estimated at $3,297.

Sept 26th, a resident of 11th St W in Zimmerman reported the theft of a money order in the amount of $420 from her mailbox.

Sept 26th, the River Inn Saloon located on Hwy 25 in Big Lake Township reported that unknown person(s) had opened a safe and removed two bank deposit bags valued at $2,000.

Sept 27th, DNR forestry located on Fremont Ave in Orrock Township reported the theft of a Stihl 034 chainsaw from the back of a fire truck parked at the above location. Approximate value is $459.

Sept 28th, an individual reported the theft of a washer, dryer and computer stand valued at approximately $2,500 from her storage unit at the Big Lake Mini Storage on 198th Ave in Big Lake Township.

Sept 30th, a resident of Clearwater reported the theft of auto tools and equipment form a garage on Fremont Lane in Zimmerman. Loss is valued at $3,575.

Oct 1st, a resident of 11th St NW in Baldwin Township reported the theft of solar lights and reflectors valued at $110.

Oct 2nd, Nelson Nursery located on Main St in Zimmerman reported the theft of a ten foot tall pumpkin valued at $800.

Oct 3rd, Dales Frontier Auto located on 3rd St E in Zimmerman reported unknown suspect(s) had test driven a vehicle and removed a Sony CD player, rear speakers and power cables valued at $500.

Oct 5th, Schroeder construction of Zimmerman reported the theft of 1500 feet of copper telephone cable from a trailer parked on Co Rd 83 in Big Lake Township. Loss is valued at $750.
Oct 8th, a resident of St Cloud reported her vehicle parked on 4th St West in Zimmerman had the driver’s side door window broken out and a purse and contents stolen. 

Oct 9th, a resident of St Cloud reported the theft of a 1991 Saturn valued at $8500 from CO Rd 5 in Big Lake Township. Items inside the vehicle were a bathroom vanity mirror, a dog training collar and a baseball glove, value of these items is $680.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary

On 10/04/05 at 2132 hours the St. Cloud Police Department investigated a burglary complaint at 419 5th Avenue South. The St. Cloud resident reported he believed an unknown person entered his residence through an unlocked front door and stole a wallet from a kitchen table.

Approximately eight adults were home during the time of the alleged burglary.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary

On 10/08/05 at approximately 0304 hours officers of the St. Cloud Police Department were dispatched to the Liquor Shoppe at 2110 8th Street North, for a burglary. In speaking with a witness officers learned that two males, approximately 18 - 20 years of age, had broken the front glass to the business and taken approximately 5 cases of beer.

The suspects fled the area and the witness lost sight of them. The total estimated damage and cost of repair was approximately $760. The total amount of items lost was approximately $70.

St. Cloud Police: Robbery

On 0/03/05 at 1800 hours the St. Cloud Police Department was dispatched to the 700 block of 4th Street South for a robbery complaint that occurred on 10/01/05 at 2130 hours.

The female victim stated a Somali male approached her from behind and demanded money. The victim gave the suspect her money and the suspect fled on foot. The victim did not see the male and there is no description of the suspect.
