Waite Park Police: Burglaries and Thefts
Over the
past several weeks a portion of Waite Park has been the target of burglars
and thieves. The suspects will go yard to yard going through vehicles
seeking removable items such as cash, stereo equipment, etc. In most
cases, the cars are unlocked, however, there have been incidents involving
forced entry.
This past Sunday evening between 2200 and 2230 hours, several cars and
garages were entered. Entry into the garages was made by breaking windows
or kicking in doors. Once inside, vehicles were entered and property was
stolen. In all, approximately 10 complaints were received by the
department.
The area being targeted is located between 2nd Avenue North on the east,
12th Avenue North on the west, Division Street on the south and 3rd Street
on the north.
People living in this area are asked to report any activity involving
unusual noise or activity. If the activity is in progress, please call
911. Any other calls can be made to Crime Stoppers.
