St. Cloud Police: Attempted Carjacking

On 12/22/05 at approximately 2208 hours officers from the St. Cloud Police Department were dispatched to an attempted carjacking at Washington Memorial Dive and University Drive South.

An adult female, from St. Augusta, was returning home when her vehicle was approached by three males. Two of the males walked past the driver side of her vehicle while the third male described as a light complected black male in his mid-twenties, approximately six foot, 160-170 pounds, wearing 8 white long sleeve thermal type shirt and black baggy pants, approached her passenger window and ordered her to unlock her door. When the adult female refused, the black male attempted to strike the passenger window with the butt end of a brown handled handgun.

The adult female victim drove away and watched as all three males were attempting to possibly carjack the vehicle directly behind her.

Holiday Tips:

1. Don’t advertise gifts received by tossing the empty boxes outside.  If you might need the box for any future return or replacement, cut the tape and fold the box for storage.
2. If you don’t need the box, cut it up into recycling size and bundle the pieces in such a way that no one can read the labels.
3. Be very aware of what is going on in your neighborhood.  Last year at this time, a resident on the north end spotted some young men walking the alleys and flagging some property with pieces of cloth.  It was learned later that some of these residences had received deliveries from Electronic Stores.
4. If everyone in your family is going to attend church services together, make arrangements for someone in your neighborhood to watch your property.  Then return the favor when they go to church.
5. Several years ago there was a series of residential burglaries around Mayhew Lake in Benton County.  A sick resident, who didn’t go to church, spotted the activity and notified authorities.
6. Keep your doors and windows locked.  How many times do we see reports that the burglar gained entry through an un-locked door or window?

Waite Park Police: Fuel Theft

On December 19, 2005 it was reported to the Waite Park Police Department that 650 gallons of diesel fuel were stolen out of vehicles parked at Vitran Express, 3105 4th Street S in Waite Park.

Sartell Police: Business Burglary, Criminal Damage to Property and Theft

On 12/5/05 at 0655 hours, Sartell Police responded to a Burglary at Marnantelli’s Pizza, 3 Riverside Ave South.

Upon arriving to open for the day, the owner noticed that the front door had been partially smashed out. It appeared as though the suspect crawled through the broken door to gain access to the building. The front door was still locked.

Investigation revealed that approximately 3 rolls of quarters had been taken, along with some miscellaneous change.
