Benton County Sheriff: Business Burglaries
The Benton County Sheriff is investigating a series of business burglaries
that occurred during the over night hours on May 11, 13, 18, 23, 2005.
These incidents occurred in Rice, Sauk Rapids, and the Foley areas.
Businesses including Farmers Insurance Agency, Alamo Bar, Rice American
Legion, Huntington Auto, Gilman Liquor, Ronneby Bar and Grill, and Foley
Farm Supply were burglarized. Forced entry was gained to the businesses.
Items taken during the burglaries include a .22 caliber pistol and cash.
Waite Park Police Department: Commercial Burglaries
On
Saturday, May 14th, 2005 the Waite Park Police Department was called to a commercial
burglary that occurred at Cingular Wireless. The suspect used forced entry
to gain access to businesses. The suspect is described as a white male
wearing blue jeans and a blue jean jacket.
On
Monday May 16th, the Waite Park Police Department responded to
a report of a commercial burglary that occurred at the Girl Scouts
building located at 117 4th Street S in Waite Park. The
burglary appeared to have taken place sometime over the weekend. It does
not appear that forced entry was used.
On
Monday May 16th the Waite Park Police Department responded to a
commercial burglary that occurred at Tru Stone on Prosper Drive in Waite
Park. Forced entry was used to gain access to the building. Several items
were taken including a digital camera, lap top computer, sound station,
two way radios, and other miscellaneous items. Estimated loss is $6,000.
Stearns County Sheriff: Theft
from vehicle
On 5/17, the SCSO received a report of
a vehicle break-in in St. Augusta. A Pontiac Sunfire had been parked near
23rd Ave on CR 7, and overnight unknown persons forced entry to the car
and stole stereo equipment. The car had been parked on CR 7 because of
construction in the area. Stolen from the car were over 300 compact
discs, a Sony amplifier, and a JVC CD player. Loss is estimated at over
$4000.
