St. Cloud Police Department: Burglary

In the early morning hours of June 10, officers responded to three home invasion burglaries in the 1200 block of 9th Ave N, the 600 block of 9th Ave N and the 700 Block of 8th Ave N. Taken in the burglaries was cash, food and liquor. St. Cloud Police are encouraging citizens to report any suspicious behavior in these areas.

Elk River Police: Hit and Run Driver

The Elk River Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in solving a hit-and-run accident that occurred on Feb. 25 at approximately 7:25 p.m. The accident occurred on County Road 12 near Walmart and involved a pedestrian being struck by a car. The vehicle is described as having the following characteristics: light colored (possibly white), older model (late '80's to early '90's), same taillights as a Mercury Cougar, Ford Thunderbird and Pontiac Bonneville, with lights illuminated across trunk.

The vehicle was traveling east on County Road 12 at the time of the accident and, because of driving conduct, the driver may not have been aware of striking the pedestrian. The impact occurred on the passenger side of the vehicle on the right front fender or bumper.

St. Cloud Police: Burglary

On 6/7/05, officers responded to a burglary complaint that occurred in the early morning hours of 5/29/05 on the 300 block of 20th Ave N. There did not appear to be forced entry. Items taken included a digital camera and three DVD’s.

Waite Park Police Department: Theft

On 6/7/05, Waite Park Police Department got a report of a theft from Mill End Textiles in Waite Park. The theft happened between 6/3/05 and 6/6/05. Taken from the business were five pulls of silk fabric. The total value of the fabric is $1260.00

Stearns County Sheriff’s Department: Vehicle Break-ins

Over the past week, the SCSO has received reports of vehicles broken into at the Public Access on Bayberry Rd in Fairhaven Twp.  Vehicles have been entered by persons smashing out windows.  Stolen items included a backpack full of City of Minnetonka work items (traffic vest, earmuffs, etc) In another theft, a wallet was stolen, credit cards from the wallet were fraudulently used to make purchases. Persons with information are asked to contact Crime Stoppers.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary

On 6/4/05, at approximately 0400 hours, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 24th Ave N in reference to an attempted break-in at a residence. An unknown male suspect had opened the screen door and was checking the front door when the homeowner turned on the light and scared the suspect away.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglaries

On 6/5/05, at approximately 0400 hours, officers responded to 2025 Stearns Way for a burglary complaint. The building houses four separate businesses and two of the businesses showed signs of forced entry. It is believed that the suspect(s) most likely propped open a rarely used exterior door sometime on 6/4 and returned later that night. Two businesses had doors and windows damaged and several computers were taken from both locations.

St. Cloud Police: Assault

On 6/5/05, at 1846 hours, officers were dispatched to a medical call. Upon arrival, it was determined that the victim had been punched twice in the face by an unknown Asian male described as being in his twenties, approximately 5’2” tall and heavier-set. The assault occurred after a vehicle described as a 2-door silver Acura with a spoiler and large muffler had been tailgating the victim on County Road 4, traveling west from 54th Ave. The Acura passed the victim’s vehicle at a high rate of speed and braked, causing the victim to slam on his brakes and rear-end the Acura. The victim pulled over on 19th St N, as did the Acura, in an attempt to exchange information, at which time the victim was confronted by two male, Asian occupants and was subsequently punched by the passenger. Both suspects got back into the Acura and left southbound on 19th St N and then east on Bromo Ave.

Stearns County Sheriff – Burglary

On 6/5/05, the SCSO received a report of a break in at the St. Nicholas Softball Field concession stand.  Overnight, unknown persons forced entry to the building, through a concession service window.  About 15 cases of Bud Light and Miller Lite were stolen, along with candy and Gatorade.
