Albany Police Department: Smash and Grab, Identity Theft

The Albany Police Department is asking for the public’s help in resolving a theft from vehicle incident that took place on 08/12/2005 at approximately 2130 hours where a window was smashed and a purse was taken. The vehicle was parked on Church Avenue by the Albany Golf Club. Inside of the purse was a Visa credit card, checkbook from Federal Employee Credit Union, personal keys, an ID card, and a nursing license.
Later that night, it was learned that the Visa credit card had been used at several businesses along I-94. The credit card was used at the Holiday Station in Albany, Smiley Gas Mart and First Stop in Freeport, Super America, Holiday Station, and Truckers Inn in Sauk Centre. New information reveals that one of the checks taken was used at an Applebee’s restaurant. There may be other credit card and check transactions that remain unknown at this time.

The Albany Police Department received surveillance pictures of a male and female who were using the credit card. The individuals are unknown to this department. St. Cloud Police: Armed Robbery (From week of August 1, 2005 Updated 8-15-05, Solved with three arrests)

On 07/17/05 at approximately 2116 hours officers were dispatched to 319 2nd Street South, JM Speedstop, in reference to a robbery.

Officers learned that the lone cashier, a 23-year old from St. Cloud, was robbed at gunpoint. The unknown suspect demanded cash and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 6'0" tall, 170 pounds; light build, in his early 20’s.

Officers are reviewing the video surveillance tape and the investigation continues.

(Update) On 8-15-05, three individuals from St. Cloud were arrested for felony theft in reference to this investigation. Arrested were two females, ages 25 and 23; and one male age 18. The investigation revealed that all three persons planned this theft, including one that was an employee of JM Speedstop. The incident was staged to present itself as a robbery, but in fact, was only, theft due to the fact that all persons involved were working together.

Stearns County Sheriff: Graffiti Vandalism
 

On 08-10-05 Deputies took a vandalism complaint at the St. Martin City Park.  Someone drew graffiti on the cement and on the wall under the shelter.  Some additional graffiti was found in the women’s bathroom.  These incidents occurred between noon on 08-09-05 and noon 08-10-05.

Stearns County Sheriff: Theft of Fishing Equipment
 
On 08-11-05 Deputies responded to a theft complaint in the 2100 block of 247 Street in St. Augusta. 
Taken was a smoke colored Plano 777 tackle box.  It is about 12" high, 12" deep and 18" long with a tan lid.  The lid is warped and doesn’t close properly.   It was filled with miscellaneous fishing items.  A light grey pedestal butt seat, Abu Garcia spin rod and reel 6 and a half feet long, Shakespeare fishing rod and reel 6 and a half feet long, a Quantum reel(reel top is gold) with a 7' brown (unknown brand) rod.  The victims fishing license and boat registration were also in the tackle box.  This theft occurred between 07-31-05 and 08-07-05.
