St. Cloud Police: Theft
The St. Cloud Police are investigating a theft that occurred at Halenbeck
Hall at SCSU. The theft happened between 9/12/05 at 2320 hours and 9/13/05
at 0800 hours.
Taken from a safe in the Office of Sports Facilities was an envelope
containing $3,344 in cash and checks.
Waite Park Police: Theft of a Dog
At
approximately 1100 hours on Friday, September 16, 2005 Waite Park Officers
responded to a theft complaint in the Home Depot parking lot. Victim
reported that she went in to Home Depot and left her two dogs in her
vehicle. When she returned to her vehicle one of the dogs was missing and
it is believed it was stolen. The dogs were in a green van with Florida
plates. The missing dog is a white and black Pekinese mix about 10-11
years old. The dog does have health issues and responds to Sparky. See the

St. Cloud Police: Gunshots
On 09/18/05 at approximately 2046 hours officers were dispatched to 220
Osseo Avenue North in reference to a gunshot complaint.
Investigation revealed that severa1 rounds struck the east side of the
residence. At the time of the incident a fami1y occupied the lower level
of the house. No one was injured; however, one round came within
approximately three feet of a male seated at the kitchen table.
It appeared that the upper level apartment was the target and that tenant
had already moved out.
St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary
On 9/18/05 at 0610 hours, officers were dispatched to MT’s Bar at 2022 8th
Street North for a burglary.
Upon arrival, officers learned that the suspect(s) had pried open the
front door as well as the pull tab cabinet. The suspect(s) had also kicked
in an office door and stolen a gray safe containing three hundred dollars
in one's and five's.
t. Cloud Police: Assault
On 09/16/05 at approximately 2311 hours St. Cloud Police were dispatched
to the 1900 block of Quarry Road in reference to an assault.
Police met with the twenty-one year old female victim. The victim advised
police that she was walking on Quarry Road in about the 2000 block when
she was tackled from behind.
The victim described her attacker as a white male between 20 and 30 years
of age with a muscular build and standing approximately 5' 9" tall wearing
blue jeans and a black zip up hoodie.
The attacker held the victim on the ground for a short period of time but
was scared off as two cars passed by. The attacker then fled southbound on
Quarry Road and the victim ran to her apartment.
At this time police have no suspects and are asking the public's help in
identifying a suspect in this case.
St. Cloud Fire Department: Arson
On 9/16/05 at 0635 crews were dispatched to a structure fire in the 400
block of 5th Avenue South. It took approximately 35 minutes to control and
extinguish the fire.
The structure was an older, vacant 1 ½ story home and the fire was
confined to the first floor.
Investigators believe the home was accessed through a broken window.
Existing combustibles and living room furniture within the home were set
ablaze.
The Fire Marshal believes the fire was set about approximately 0600. The
house was not structurally damaged; however smoke and heat damage is
estimated to be around $80,000. Investigators declared this fire to be the
result of arson.

information leading to the identification of persons responsible for this
fire. This reward is in addition to the standing Crime Stopper reward of
up to $1,000.
St. Cloud Police: Counterfeit Money
On 09/12/05 at 2000 hours officers of the St. Cloud Police Department
responded to the passing of counterfeit $20 bills located at Coborns, 327
5th Avenue South.
$140 in counterfeit twenty dollar bills was passed at the Coborns Grocery
Store.
One twenty dollar counterfeit bill was passed at Coborns Liquor Store.
The eight counterfeit bills were seized and taken as evidence.
In recent weeks, counterfeit bills have been passed in several communities
in the tri-county area.
