St. Cloud Police: Theft from Motor
Vehicle
On 10/10/07 at approximately 2200 hours officers were dispatched to the
700 block of Washington Memorial Drive to investigate a theft from vehicle
report. One vehicle parked in the area had its rear windshield smashed out
and several things stolen from within. While investigating this theft,
officers learned of another vehicle parked nearby that was also entered
which a wallet was taken out of, but later recovered. Officers have
investigated similar incidents at other locations throughout the City. It
is believed that the suspect(s) are entering through unlocked doors and
stealing items of value that are visible form the exterior, such as
wallets, iPods, and stereo systems.
Officers are encouraging people to maintain a showroom clean interior so
that suspects are unable to see items that may be of value, as well as not
leaving these items in their vehicle while it is unattended. Officers
would also encourage people to park in well lit areas, lock their doors,
and report any suspicious people in alleyways or near vehicles.
