Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of December 10, 2007

St. Cloud Police: Aggravated Robbery and Assault

On 12/12/07 at 0955 hours officers were dispatched to 1400 block of 126 Avenue north, for a robbery. Upon arrival officers found the victim, a 37 year-old female, in the hallway with her mouth duct taped shut.

Investigation revealed that three males, one described as a black male approximately 20 years of age wearing a green hooded sweatshirt with short hair, and two Asian males approximately 20 years of age wearing black shirts, entered the apartment through an unlocked door, demanded money from the victim, bound her with duct tape and shoelaces, and struck her in the head with an object and kicked her several times. After approximately 30 minutes, the three individuals left the apartment with unknown items from the victim's purse.

The victim did not recognize any of the suspects. The victim did not sustain any severe injuries; there was also an infant present that was unharmed.

The scene was processed for evidence and the follow-up investigation will be conducted by CID. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is encouraged to call the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301.

Waite Park Police: Robbery and Assault

On 12/11/07 at 1815 hours, the Waite Park Police responded to a robbery and assault that occurred at Division St. and Waite Ave. S. The 18 year old victim was sitting in his car on Division St. waiting to make a right hand turn on to Waite Ave in front of the Olive Garden when an unidentified man came up to his car, pulled open his driver's door, and demanded his wallet and valuables.

The suspect punched the victim in the face and fled on foot. The suspect made away with the victims wallet.

St. Cloud Police: Racial Incident and Vandalism

On 12/11/07 at 1654 hours officers were dispatched to 702 1st Avenue South, in reference to vandalism.

Upon arrival officers located a swastika scratched in the men's room stall door in Stewart Hall. It was not very visible but was distinguishable as a swastika.

SCSU security then escorted officers to the Atwood Center where a red foam sticker had been located in the women's bathroom. The sticker had a drawing on it with the words "White Folks" written underneath it. The sticker was on the inside of the stall door in the women's bathroom. At this time there are no leads In this case.

St. Cloud Police and Fire: Suspected Arson

An early morning garage fire is being investigated as arson, according to St. Cloud police. The fire was reported at 1:12 a.m. Monday at 307 Second Ave. NE. The fire caused $14,500 in damage to the garage and three vehicles. One vehicle was inside the garage and two were parked outside. A truck and car outside the garage suffered heat damage.

The nearby house and shed were not damaged, according to the St. Cloud Fire Department. Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call the St. Cloud police department at 251-1200 or Crime Stoppers 255-1301.

Sartell Police: 3 – Case Summaries

Wednesday, December 5

6:40 a.m. Attempted burglary and criminal damage, Subway. Suspect(s) broke a window and gained access into the building. Nothing appeared to have been stolen. Police are investigating.

11:37 a.m. Hit and run, 300 block of 8th Street North. Complainant reported observing a vehicle out of control and damaging several mailboxes. The driver of the vehicle did not stop. Officers located the vehicle and its driver. The 25-year-old male driver was issued a citation for failing to report a property damage accident.

Sunday, December 9

1:50 p.m. Stolen vehicle recovered. While on patrol, a Sartell officer located a parked vehicle that had been stolen out of Fridley. Suspects were not located.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft

On 12/10/07 officers were dispatched to the 800 block of 18th Avenue North for a burglary complaint. A detached garage was entered and various tools were stolen. Anyone with any information on a possible suspect can call the St. Cloud police Department at 251-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 255-1301

Waite Park Police: Residential Burglary and Theft

On December 6th, at 1741 hours officers responded to a report of a burglary that occurred sometime between 9:00 am and 4:30 pm on Thurs Dec 6th in the 00 block of 1st Street N. Missing from the residence are electronics including a digital camera, speakers, a sub, DVD player, receiver, 22 in TV, etc and a black leather jacket.

St. Cloud Police: Bias Motivated Graffiti

On 12/06/07 at approximately 1900 hours officers were dispatched to St. Cloud State University to investigate a drawing found on a history bulletin board. Officers found a drawing containing a story board of people conversing about "rednecks", wearing swastikas on their arms, holding alcoholic containers, and applying bias motivated graffiti. Later in the evening, three additional drawings of this nature were found across campus.

It was reported to the St. Cloud Police Department on 12/7/07 at 1019 hours that a document with a swastika drawn on it was placed under the door of a university professor in the education building. It is unknown at this time if these incidents are related to each other and if they are related to the previous reports of this nature on the SCSU campus.

The St. Cloud Police Department Criminal Investigation Division is assisting in the investigation. The case remains active at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the St. Cloud Police Department at 251-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 255-1301.
