Create CommUNITY: Bias/Hate Crimes Reward Offer

Create CommUNITY is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information on unsolved bias/hate crimes in the tri-county area. This information must lead to an arrest and/or formal charging of the person or persons responsible for committing the bias/hate crimes.

Tri-County Crime Stoppers is coordinating the processing of tips, protecting the anonymity of the tipster and the payment of any rewards.

Create CommUNITY bases the definition of “bias offense” according to the Minnesota State Statute, as the conduct that would constitute a crime and was committed because of the victim’s or another’s actual or perceived race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, disability as defined in Minnesota State Statute section 363A.03, age or national origin.

St. Cloud Police: Robbery and Assault with Injuries

On 12/31/07 at approximately 0435 hours officers were dispatched to a robbery complaint in the at 1500 block of 15th Avenue SE.

Investigation revealed that an adult male had been robbed by four black males and one white female after giving the victim & ride from a downtown bar.

The victim stated one of the black males had pointed a gun at his face and punched him. The victim was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for a laceration to his face. The victim could not provide any description of the suspects.

St. Cloud Police: Robbery

On 12/29/07 at 2257 hours officers were dispatched to 100 block of 15th Avenue North, in reference to a fight. Upon arrival officers learned that a 39-year-old resident of Cosmos, Minnesota, was assaulted and his wallet was taken from him.

The suspect was identified as a black male in his late 20's wearing jeans, a stocking hat, and had a goatee.

Officers were able to locate individuals possibly involved at a nearby residence. At this time investigation is ongoing. If you have any information contact Crime Stoppers at 320-255-1301 or the St. Cloud Police Department at 320-251-1200.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft

On 12/28/07 officers responded to the 1100 block of 9th Avenue South for a 1st degree burglary report. Upon arrival officers learned that an unknown person had entered the residence through the rear door with no signs of forced entry. Taken was a 42 inch Plasma television.
