Crime Stoppers Open Cases
for Week of March 5, 2007

St. Cloud Police: Shooting
On 3/4/07 at 0247 hours officers were dispatched to the St. Cloud Hospital in reference to a report of a gunshot victim. Upon arrival officers met with two victims identified as a 25 year old Waite Park male and a 19 year old St. Cloud male. The shooting occurred at 1820 3rd Street N at approximately 0230 hours. It appears the suspects and the victims were acquaintances. The St. Cloud Metro Gang Strike Force with the assistance of the St. Cloud Drug Unit, the St. Cloud Police Department, and the Central Minnesota Drug and Gang Task Force are working the case.

Sartell Police Department: Attempted Theft
On 2/27/07 at 4:56 a.m. Attempted theft, 800 block of 10th Ave N. Complainant arrived home and observed a gas can sitting next to an occupied car in the parking lot. The suspect vehicle, a darker colored older 4-door sedan, had a hose sticking out of the gas tank, siphoning gasoline from another vehicle. The suspect vehicle then left the area. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Sartell Police Department: Criminal Damage and Theft
On 3/4/07 at 3:30 p.m. Criminal damage and theft, 2200 block of Connecticut Ave S. Windows were smashed on two vehicles in parking lot. The owner of one of the vehicles reported that her purse was stolen from inside the vehicle.

Benton County Sheriff’s Department: Attempted Burglary
At approximately 1515 hours, 03/07/07, an adult male attempted to gain access into a residence on Cottage Grove Avenue shortly after a young male had gotten off of the
school bus and had gone into the residence. The suspect had been sitting in a vehicle parked on the street near the residence at the time the boy was dropped off by the school bus. The suspect attempted entry on both the front and rear doors of the residence.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20 to 40 years of age, 5'7" to 6'2", black hair, medium build. Had what looked like scars or burn marks on face along with acne. Wearing a red jacket and black pants.

The vehicle is described as an older, mid-size 4 door, dark blue in color. A neighbor had seen the same vehicle the night before and describes it as being similar to an Alero, it had turned around in her driveway.

Benton County Sheriff’s Department: Sexual Assault
On Tuesday, February 27, 2007 at approximately 4:30 a.m. Benton County Sheriff’s Office received a complaint of a sexual assault at Rockwood Estates trailer park in Watab Township. Upon arrival deputies were informed that an unwanted male had entered a residence and had made unwanted sexual contact with two juveniles. Deputies were informed that the male then left northbound in a newer dark pickup. Below is a description of the suspect
Caucasian male with light skin, about 20 years old, approximately 5’ 8” with a stocky build and possibly hazel/green eyes. He also had a puggy face with a double chin. His hair was reddish blond with approximately one inch in length and messy. He had a reddish blond thin line beard and goatee, the beard is approximately ¼ inch wide. The suspect smelled of alcohol and body odor.

Clothing: The suspect was wearing a plain white short sleeve t-shirt, gray sweatpants with a thin stripe along the leg and white and black tennis shoes. A baseball cap was also recovered at the scene that was left behind by the suspect. It is described as a 2004 Minnesota Fall maintenance Expo/Roadeo baseball cap. See the picture below for details. The baseball cap was sent to the BCA laboratory to be analyzed for DNA
