for Week of March 12, 2007

St. Cloud Police: Wanted Person
The St. Cloud Police are looking for Curtis Lee Brown, DOB 7-12-1974. He is wanted for questioning in a double shooting which occurred on the 4th of March in the City of St. Cloud. He is also wanted by St. Cloud Police and Stearns County Sheriff’s Department for Narcotics warrants. He is described as a black male, 6 foot 1, 178 pounds, brown eyes, and black hair. He has the initials “KB” tattooed on the right side of his neck, the initials “G” “D” tattooed on his chest, and a tattoo of a cross on his abdomen. He is believed to be in the St. Cloud area.

Waite Park Police: Burglary

On 3/14/07 at 0900 officers responded to a Burglary complaint at Avanti Salon in Waite Park. There were no signs of forced entry, but cash was taken from the till. This is the second burglary at this business; the first one was on 3/10/07

St. Cloud Police: Burglary

On 3/14/07 at approximately 0052 hours officers were dispatched to 1511 Northway Drive, Suite 201 in the City of St. Cloud, in reference to an alarm complaint. Officers arrived on scene and found that the lower level south waiting room area window had been broken out. During the course of the investigation it appeared that at least one suspect cut him or herself, leaving bloody fingerprints in several parts of the business. At this time it is unknown exactly what was taken. This is the second burglary at this business, the first on occurring on 3/13/07.

Sartell Police: Case Summaries

On 3/09/07 at 6:23 a.m. Criminal damage, 500 block of 1st St NE. Vehicle window was smashed out while parked in parking lot.

On 3/11/07 at 9:01 a.m. Criminal damage and theft, 600 block of Riverside Ave N. Vehicle window was smashed out and the following items were taken from the vehicle: Pioneer CD player, 2 6x9 Polk audio speakers, Alpine amp, Sony amp, Sub-Zero speaker box, and 2 JL audio sub woofers.

On 3/12/07 at 11:26 a.m. Theft from vehicle, 1700 block of Pine Cone Rd S. Laptop computer, iPod, MPS player and cell phone were stolen from vehicle. No indication of forced entry.

On 3/12/07 at 3:00 p.m. Burglary, Northern Star Therapy. Business was broken into over the weekend. A Noblis N4003 RTS Notebook and cash was stolen.

St. Cloud Police Department: Attempted Theft

On 3/10/07 officers responded to Royal Tire for an attempted purchase with a fraudulent credit card. The suspects were from Ghana and were attempting to buy eight tires with a credit card from North Carolina. The company called the credit card company and learned the account did not exist. The suspect gave another credit card that also did not exist. At one point the suspect requested to purchase a ceiling fan from the tire store. It appears that the suspects are from a foreign country due to their grammar and spelling and are attempting to buy anything from a company that will accept their credit cards. There was no loss in this incident; however, the St. Cloud Police Department would like other businesses to be aware of similar attempts.

St. Cloud Police Department: Burglary

On 3/10/07 at approximately 2112 hours officers were dispatched to 5742 Spruce Street in St. Cloud for a burglary. The suspects entered the residence between the hours of 1815 and 2110. Entry was gained by kicking in a back door. Items taken from the home are a safe containing documents, approximately $150 cash, a DVD player, and the family’s cat. Fingerprints and footprints were located at the scene.

St. Cloud Police Department: Burglary

On 3/13/07 at 0449 hours officers were dispatched to 1511 Northway Drive to investigate broken windows at a business. Officers arrived and with the assistance of a canine from Waite Park PD cleared the business and no one was found inside. Miscellaneous items were taken from the office.

St. Cloud Police Department: Attempted Theft

Between the dates of 1/25/07 and 3/12/07 a St. Cloud business received a fraudulent offer to purchase merchandise. The caller used a relay phone call and attempted to purchase office furniture. The subject asked for the business’s bank account number to direct deposit the payment. The caller claimed to be from Ghana. The caller only left an email address and an international phone number. The caller called on a second occasion and attempted to purchase anything that the business would sell to him. Businesses and citizens should be alerted not to give out any bank or personal information to anyone over the phone or through email.

Waite Park Police Department: Burglary

On 3/10/07 at 0905 hours officers responded to Avanti Salon for a burglary complaint. Cash and hair care products were taken from the business.
