Crime Stoppers Open Cases
for Week of June 4, 2007

Stearns County will be installing some new electrical equipment in their Computer Room, starting at 4:30pm on Friday, June 8th.  They hope to have everything back up and running by Sunday afternoon, June 10th.

Sauk Rapids Police:  Felony Arson

At approximately 10:58 PM, Tune 6, 2007, officers of the Sauk Rapids Police Department and units of the Sauk Rapids Fire Department responded to a report of a house fire/explosion at 1513 Park View Lane NE in Sauk Rapids. Upon arriving at the scene, officers observed black smoke coming from the eaves of the residence. There were no injuries reported. The incident remains under investigation as an arson.

Sartell Police: 3 – Case Summaries

Wednesday, May 23

11:00 a.m. Theft, 800 block of 4th Ave N. An UNLOCKED vehicle, parked in the owner’s driveway, was entered. A Pioneer CD player faceplate, model # DEH-P7200, was stolen, along with a black briefcase.

Friday, May 25

10:30 a.m. Criminal damage, 300 block of Bechtold Drive. Vehicle was struck by paintballs while it was parked on the street.

Sunday, May 27

11:35 a.m. Property damage and theft, 700 block of 13th Avenue North. Vehicle window was smashed and a purse containing a cell phone, checkbook and earrings was stolen.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property

On 06/06/07 at approximately 0037 hours officers responded to 1522 3rd Street North, SchmidtYs Superette, for a burglary in progress. The suspect fled the area on foot prior to officers' arrival and was not located. A witness described the suspect as a male wearing a light colored sweatshirt and jeans. The male attempted to gain entry by throwing a rock at the glass door, only breaking one of the window panes. The suspect did not gain entry.

St. Cloud Police: Vandalism

On 06/02/07 at approximately 0257 hours officers were dispatched to Cathedral High School, 312 7th Avenue North, for a vandalism complaint. Officers learned their were five broken windows on the north side of the building next to door number one.

The vandalism occurred between 06/01/07 at approximately 2300 hours and 06/02/07 at approximately 0030 hours. The cost for replacement of these windows is $1,200.

St. Cloud Police: Hit and Run – Pedestrian

On 06/02/07 at 0220 hours, officers were dispatched to a hit and run involving a pedestrian on Highway 10 and Saint Germain Street. The female pedestrian was walking across St. Germain Street on the east side of the intersection, where she walked into the side of a vehicle. The collision knocked her to the ground causing minor injuries.

The suspect vehicle described as a late 90’s model Chevrolet Silverado did not stop and continued eastbound on St. Germain Street East.

St. Cloud Police: Felony Theft

On 06/O1/O7 at approximately 2040 hours officers were dispatched to the 5800 block of Rolling Ridge Road for a theft complaint.

Upon arrival officers met with the victim who had several items stolen from his yard and shed between 05/24/07 at approximately 1700 hours and 06/03/07. The items stolen from the victim's yard were two four wheelers. Items stolen from the shed were three chainsaws, an ice auger, and a tool box containing miscellaneous tools.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary

On 06/04/07 at 0429 hours officers were dispatched to Shooter's Saloon and Eatery at 2223 Roosevelt Road for a burglary call. Officers located a broken window where an individual had entered and exited the business. Nothing appeared to have been taken from the business.

St. Cloud Police: Robbery and Assault

On 05/31/07 at 0224 hours officers were dispatched to the area of the 400 block of 5th Avenue South for a robbery complaint. The victim, a 21 year old St. Cloud resident, was walking from the downtown area when he was assaulted and robbed by three white male suspects. The victim received minor injuries which did not require medical attention.

One suspect was described as a white male, 6'4" to 6'5", approximately 300 pounds, wearing baggy blue shorts, and a white polo with blue stripes. The other two suspects are described as white males, 5'7" to 5’11”, also wearing baggy b1ue shorts and polo type shirts.

Benton County Sheriff: Felony Arson

Date: 5/31/07-6/01/07 2300-0700 hrs
Location: 15000 block of 25th Street NE, Glendorado Township, Benton County
Incident: Fire Investigations

The Benton County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fire that destroyed a house structure in Section 16 of Glendorado Township in Benton County. It occurred between 2300 hours on 5/31/07 and 0700 hours on 6/1/07. No one was living in the home at the time. Grass fires have also occurred in the same general area on first two weekends in May.

Waite Park Police: Theft

On 5/27/07 Waite Park Police Department received a call from a truck driver stating he was missing 600 gallons of fuel and two fuel caps from his truck. The fuel appears to have been siphoned out of the truck. Other trucks in the area were also missing fuel caps
