Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of July 16, 2007

St. Cloud Police: Armed Robbery

On 07/17/07 at approximately 2156 hours officers were dispatched to Gary's Pizza, located at 2848 2nd Street South, on a robbery. Investigation revealed that a male entered the business, brandished a silver colored handgun, and demanded the cash.

A suspect is described as a Hispanic male, early to mid-twenties, 5'6" to 5'8" in height, medium build. The suspect was seen wearing a brown button-down shirt, a tall hat, with a dark complexion. The suspect left in a silver in color vehicle, similar to that of a newer Pontiac G6 type vehicle. The investigation is ongoing.

Wednesday, June 27

7:44 a.m. Property damage, 300 block of 5th Ave S. Vandals damaged flowers and bushed and threw flower pots.

Sunday, July 1

10:20 p.m. Vandalism, 400 block of 17th Street North. Graffiti was spray painted on homeowner’s mailbox.

Monday, July 2

9:30 a.m. Vandalism, 600 block of 17th Street North. Graffiti was spray painted on homeowner’s mailbox.

Wednesday, July 4

5:40 a.m. Burglary, 805 Riverside Avenue South. While on patrol, an officer observed the front glass door of a business was smashed and the inside of the business was vandalized. Suspect(s) stole cash and several items from inside the business. Officers are investigating.

8:29 p.m. Theft, 300 block of 13th Street North. A female reported that she parked her car on the street, left her purse on the front seat and left the vehicle unlocked. When the female returned to her vehicle 6 hours later, the purse was gone.

Saturday, July 7

10:17 a.m. Theft, 200 block of 10th Street North. An unlocked vehicle was gone through and several miscellaneous items were stolen.

Monday, July 9

3:29 a.m. Criminal damage, 100 block of Meadow Drive. Windshield and side window of a vehicle were smashed out.

Wednesday, July 11

1:10 p.m. Theft, Golds Gym. A patron reported that his wallet was stolen from an unlocked locker.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary and Theft

On 07/16/07 at approximately 0919 hours officers were dispatched to 1338 15th Avenue Southeast, Pancheon Spa and Tanning, because a window had been broken out. When employees arrived, it was determined that the building had been burglarized and things taken from inside sometime overnight.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft


On 07/16/07 at approximately 1850 hours officers were dispatched to the 1300 block of Maine Prairie Road, on a burglary. Investigation revealed that the suspect(s) forced entry into the victim's home while the victim was away. Taken from the residence was approximately $5,000 worth of rare collectible coins.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary

On 07/16/07 at 0308 hours officers were dispatched to an alarm at the VA Golf Course Clubhouse, 5001 8th Street North. Upon arrival officers found a window was smashed in. Officers did check the building but did not locate anyone inside. Officers did check for latent prints left by suspects. At this point it is unknown what, if anything was taken.

St. Cloud Police: Assault with Injury

On 07/15/07 at 0240 hours officers responded to 8th Street South and 5th Avenue South for an assault. Upon arrival officers learned that the 21-year-old victim of Litchfield had been assaulted by an unknown number of males and had his front tooth knocked out. There were no suspects1oclted in the area.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft


On 07/12/07 at approximately 1311 hours officers were dispatched to the 1200 block of 15th Street North for a burglary. A 29 year old female resident from St. Cloud reported that unknown suspects had entered her locked apartment while she was gone and stolen a check.

St. Cloud Fire Department: Arson


A fire occurred in a parked vehicle at 1107 12th Avenue S.E. at 11:53 p.m. on
July 12, 2007. The fire damaged the exterior siding of a garage the vehicle was parked adjacent to.

The fire is suspected to be the result of arson and was started in some materials that were stored in the box of a 1976 Dodge pickup. The fire loss is estimated to be $5,000.

A reward of up to $2,500 is offered for information leading to the identification of person or persons responsible for this fire.

Waite Park Police: Business Burglary and Theft


On July 12th, at 0207 hours, Waite Park Police responded to a Burglary at Burger Time in Waite Park. A door to the business was pried open and a computer was taken.

Elk River Police: Aggravated Assault with Injuries

On 7-10-07 at 1: 36 am~ Officers from the Elk River Police Department responded to a burglary in progress at a residence located at 19806 Rush Street. The initial call was that the lone suspect was known to the homeowner and that an ambulance was needed for unknown injuries to someone inside the house.

On arrival officers found that the 26 year old female victim had been asleep in her bedroom when she awoke to see her ex-boyfriend, ROBERT JOSHUA SHAW, DOB/5-24-80 standing over her bed. The victim stood up and she was attacked by Shaw, who stabbed her multiple times. The victim suffered non-fatal wounds to her head, face, chest and arms. The suspect fled the residence when he was confronted by other occupants of the home.

Police later learned that the suspect had been driven to the residence where after he was dropped off, he broke into the home through a basement window, entered the bedroom and attacked the victim. The victim resides in the residence with her parents, ages 47 and 46, and two small children.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where she was treated for her wounds. Elk River Police with the assistance of several metro police departments have been checking addresses for the suspect, but at this time he is still at large, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

Special Request from the Meeker County Sheriff: 2 Armed Robberies

 

The Meeker County Sheriff’s 0ffice is asking for the public's assistance in identifying this individual.

On June 8, 2007 at 9;13 p.m., Mike's Standard in Eden Valley, MN was robbed at gunpoint by a Hispanic male. The suspect is in his med 20’s, 5’8” to 5’10”, wearing baggy blue jeans, a white bandana over his face, and a black hat. The suspect produced a silver semiautomatic handgun during the robbery and stated something to the effect “he had a family to feed”. The suspect forced the clerk into the back room while he fled.

On July 4, 2007 at 1025am, Roger’s Liquor Store in Grove City, MN was robbed at gunpoint by a Hispanic male. The suspect was in his mid 20’s, 5’8” to 5’10”, 150-160 pounds, dark short hair, and brown eyes with very bushy eyebrows. The suspect was wearing a brown zip up long sleeve shirt and faded blue jeans, along with a yellow bandana over his face. The suspect produced a silver semiautomatic handgun during the robbery and made a similar statement to the clerk reference “he had a family to feed”. The suspect then fled, unknown direction or mode of travel.
