Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of October 20, 2008

St. Cloud Police: Multiple Thefts from Vehicle, Garage Burglaries and Thefts

On the morning of 10/20/08 officers were dispatched to the 2500 block of Clearwater Road, in reference to numerous incidents of theft from vehicle and garage burglary.

Investigation revealed three vehicles and garages were forcibly entered and numerous items of value were taken. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the St. Cloud Police at 320-251-1200.

St. Cloud Police: Stolen Vehicle

On 10/18/08 officers responded to the 10 block of 7th Avenue South in reference to a stolen vehicle complaint. The victim, a 23 year-old resident of St. Cloud, stated that the vehicle was stolen sometime between the hours of 0930 and 1758 on today's date. The investigation revealed that the vehicle, a 2000 Dodge Intrepid, silver in color, with Minnesota license UYY-037, was stolen from a parking lot.

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary and Theft

On 10/16/08 at 0702 hours officers responded to the 1500 block pf 1st Street South for a burglary. Investigation led officers to believe at 0353 hours on 10/16/08 the suspect, wearing all black clothing (a black hoodie and a black ski mask, unknown if it was a male or female, no further description available at this time) forced entry breaking a glass door with a baseball bat into St. Cloud Meat and Grocery.

The suspect took a cash register which contained $300 cash and Wic vouchers. Video surveillance from the scene will be reviewed to better identify the suspect and occurrence time frame.

St. Cloud Police: Arson

On 10/16/08 at 0238 hours St. Cloud Police Department and the St. Cloud Fire Department were dispatched to the area of Richter Avenue South and 39th Street South for a fire. The fire was located in the 1700 block of 39th Street South in a wooded lot which is owned by the City of St. Cloud. A tree house and the adjacent trees were on fire upon emergency services arrival.

There was nobody inside or near the tree house during the fire. This fire is currently being investigated as a possible arson.

St. Cloud Police: Armed Robbery and Theft (From week of 10-13-08)


On 10/14/08 at approximately 2019 hours, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 1st Avenue South for a robbery.

Investigation revealed a 20-year-old male resident of St. Cloud was approached by four younger black males who were wearing dark hoods and bandanas covering their faces. Two of the males displayed handguns and demanded property from the victim. The suspect males took several electronic items from the victim and fled northbound. The area was checked with negative results. The victim did not sustain any injuries. No further suspect description wag available.
