Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of August 4, 2008
St. Cloud Police: Hit and Run with Property Damage
On 08/06/08 at approximately 0237 hours officers responded to the 500
block of Wilson Avenue Northeast, for a hit and run complaint.
The suspect vehicle is believed to be a 1999 to 2005 Pontiac Grand Am,
white in color, with significant damage to the front right portion of the
vehicle. It was seen leaving the scene of the hit end run accident
traveling northbound on Wilson Avenue Northeast. The last location of the
suspect vehicle was in the vicinity of 7th Avenue and 11th Street North in
the city of Sauk Rapids.
St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft
On 08/06/08 at approximately 0038 hours officers were dispatched to the
2600 block ofGoettens Way for a theft complaint. Investigation revealed
that two males entered an open garage while the residents were home and
took items out of two cars and the garage.
The males were seen fleeing the area and are described as follows. The
first suspect is described as a white male between ages of 17 and 20,
approximately 5’ 11”, with slender build and blonde hair. He was wearing a
white shirt and blue jeans.
The second suspect is described as a white male who was a couple inches
shorter than suspect one with a stocky build. Suspect two was wearing
black tennis shoes, black shorts, and a black shirt possibly with white
skulls on it.
St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft
On 08/05/08 at approximately 1812 hours officers were dispatched to the
500 block of 13th Street South for a burglary report. Upon arrival
officers learned that the victim had been gone from 1430 hours to 1630
hours on 08/05/08. During this time someone pried open a rear window and
stole a video game system from within the residence.
Evidence was collected at the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Stearns County Sheriff: Theft of Boat and Property
The Stearns County Sheriff is investigating the theft of a boat and other
property. On 07-11-08 @1928 hours, a boat was taken from 3576 Riviera Road
in LeSauk Twp. At 2000 hours the boat was located down river in the weeds.
The boat was a 2008 14' deep wide Lowes, that displayed MN3837-kg, model
#L1467G.
Missing items are as follows:
25 hp Lowe Honda motor with serial #1006402 - $7,000.00 value
X45 Lowrance depth finder - $350.00 value
Boat battery with case - $60.00 value
Gas tank with attachment hoses - $335.00 value
Maroon/tan tackle box full of tackle - $100.00 value

St. Cloud Police: Armed Robbery
On 07/29/08 at 0639 hours officers were dispatched to an armed robbery at
1370 15th Avenue Southeast, River Station.
Investigation revealed that a lighter skinned black male, approximately 6'
to 6'02", with a light build, wearing a brown hat, brown T-shirt, and
black jean shorts had pointed a black semi automatic pistol at the clerk
and demanded cash.
The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash.
This robbery may be related to an armed robbery that occurred yesterday at
1000 9111 Avenue South.
St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft
On 08/03/08 at approximately 1818 hours officers from the St. Cloud Police
Department were dispatched to the 3700 block of Roosevelt Road in
reference to a burglary.
Investigation revealed that sometime during the overnight hours of
08/02/08 end 08/03/08 an unknown suspect(s) forced entered in a storage
garage. Stolen were four aluminum golf cart wheels as well as a lawnmower,
a snow blower, and a golf club rack.
Waite Park Police: Theft of Storm Drain Covers
On 8/1/08 and 8/2/08 the Waite Park Police Department received reports of
storm drain covers being stolen. Storm drains were reported missing in the
area of Sunwood Park Drive, on the south side of Waite Park, and Kirkwall
Drive and Oxby Lane, located in Angus Acres. Anyone who may have seen
someone checking, disturbing, or loading the storm drain cover is asked to
call Crime Stoppers at (320) 255-1301or the Waite Park Police Department
(320) 251-3281.
St. Cloud Police: Crime Alert –
Residential Burglaries
During the month of Ju1y, the St. Cloud Police Department responded to 11
burglary complaints in the SCSU Campus area. Which boundaries include 9th
Avenue South to the Mississippi River and from Division Street to 16th
Avenue South.
This recent rash of burglaries has resulted in several residences being
entered at various times of the day and night. The suspect(s) have focused
mainly on items including, but not limited to laptop computers, cash,
video game systems, music CD's, and movie DVD's. Many of the residences
have been left unlocked when these burglaries occurred.
Residents of this area are encouraged to look for individuals whose
actions appear to be suspicious in nature and out of the ordinary.
Additionally residents/neighbors of this area are encouraged to look out
for each other and if you are going to leave town, have someone watch and
check on your residence for you while you are gone.
The St. Cloud Police Department encourages all of its citizens to lock
their doors and windows to their residences and vehicles at all times to
discourage burglaries and thefts from occurring.
Stearns County Sheriff: Business Theft (From
week of July 27, 2008, with pictures)
Over the weekend of 7-25-08 to 7-28-08 there was a well drilling truck
that was parked at the end of the cul-de-sac in Sauk Centre Twp. Items
taken were as follows:

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft
On 07/30/08 officers met with a victim of a burglary in which unknown
suspect(s) entered a house and stole a laptop computer.
Officers have taken at least four burglaries all of which include a stolen
computer from either a locked or unlocked house or apartment. All of the
victims were encouraged to always lock their doors and windows and if
possible move computers and other valuables out of sight from the windows.
St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Criminal Damage to Property
On 07/28/08 officers were dispatched to a burglary complaint in the 2200
block of 37th Street South. A vacant home that is for sale, was broken
into and damage was done inside the house. An officer with St. Cloud
Police Department's Crime Lab responded to the scene to process the house
and evidence was collected. Anyone with information about this burglary is
asked to contact St. Cloud Police Department at 251-1200 or Crime Stoppers
at (320) 255-1301.
Waite Park Police: Assault
On 7/21/08 Waite Park Police Department received a report a female who was
assaulted by an acquaintance. The 18 year old female was by the pool at
248 3rd Street S when a male, known to the female only as Mello or Mela,
approached her. The male began to force the female to an area behind the
pool storage building. During the struggle the male choked the female when
his forearm was around her neck. Shortly thereafter the male pushed the
female into the pool.
At this point police are looking for the male involved for questioning.
St. Cloud Police: Shooting with Victim Injuries
On 08/03/08 at 0425 hours officers were dispatched to the St. Cloud
Hospital reference a shooting that occurred in the 500 block of Wilson
Avenue Southeast.
The victim, a 36 year old St. Cloud male, was shot once. The victim was
brought to the St. Cloud Hospital by a private party, where he underwent
surgery for non-life threatening injuries.

St. Cloud Police: Armed Robbery
On 07/28/08 at 1003 hours an armed robbery occurred at Go For It Gas, 1000
9th Avenue South.
Witnesses described the suspect as a light-skinned black male
approximately 30 years old with a deep voice. He was wearing a black
T-shirt, black starter pants with a gold stripe design on the leg, a black
baseball hat and white tennis shoes. His face was concealed with a black
nylon face mask.
He entered the store and pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the
clerk and demanded all of the money. An undetermined amount of cash was
taken, along with a carton of Newport cigarettes. The suspect was last
seen running south across South Side Park. A search was conducted in the
area, but the suspect has not been located at this time.
Stearns County Sheriff: 3 –
Residential Burglaries
On Wednesday, July 23rd, Stearns County deputies received reports of three
residential burglaries, one of which was interrupted by the homeowner.
Deputies were called at 2:06 p.m. Monday to a home in Maine Prairie
Township, northwest of Kimball. A homeowner arrived home and noticed an
unfamiliar, small green car in the driveway. The homeowner saw two men
inside the home. The men quickly left once they were discovered. He did
not recognize the men.
Officers searched the area and found evidence and information about the
suspects.
The Sheriff’s Department believes this burglary may be related to two
others reported Wednesday.
Witnesses gave varying descriptors on the vehicle as it being green to
bluish green. John Sanner said those burglaries involved a small
blue-green car occupied by two men.
Sheriff Sanner reminds residents to lock their doors and windows when they
are not home and to tell their neighbors if they are going to be gone for
an extended period of time.
Officers describe the suspects as white men in their 20s. One was
5-feet-10-inches tall to 6-feet tall, with dark hair and wearing
dark-colored clothing. The second man was about 5-feet-7-inches tall,
wearing a T-shirt and darker clothing.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft
On 07/26/08 at approximately 0336 hours officers were called to the 400
block of 6th Avenue South for a 1st degree burglary report. Investigation
revealed that a suspect entered through the bedroom window and stole a
purse and its contents from the occupied residence. Occupants were in
another room at the time of the burglary.
