Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of September 15, 2008
Stearns County Sheriff: Felony
Theft
Sometime between Friday Sept. 12th and Wednesday Sept. 17th someone went
onto a rural piece of property in Lynden Twp. and took a large amount of
aluminum. The aluminum was described as long pieces of window flashing
approximately 6 feet long each, along with window frame pieces. The
window frame pieces had rubber gaskets on them and were approximately 15
feet long each. About 1,000 lbs. total was taken.
St. Cloud Police/Fire Departments: Suspected Arson
On 09/16/08 at approximately 0206 hours, were dispatched to the 6100 block
of 18th Street North for a car on fife. The St. Cloud Fire Department
arrived on scene and extinguished the fife without incident.
Through investigation, it was determined that the fire was suspicious. The
vehicle was towed and impounded, as there is an ongoing investigation to
determine the cause of the fire.
St. Cloud Police: Sexual Assault
On 09/13/08 at approximately 0207 hours officers responded to a sex
assault at Downtown Perkins, 118 6th Avenue South.
Investigation revealed that a 27 year old female resident of Brooten was
sexually assaulted in the parking lot.
The suspect was described as a white male in his mid to late 20's, 6’ 1",
220 pounds, and wearing a white jersey and a white baseball cap with baggy
jeans and white shoes. The victim received minor injuries and was
transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.
Stearns County Sheriff: Felony Theft
On 08-24-2008 a theft of approximately 200 scrap electric motors was
reported. The theft occurred at a rural Lynden Township farm site. The
theft is believed to occur sometime during the daylight hours. The motors
are described as being 3 - 5 horse power motors with most having attached
pulleys. Also taken were numerous miscellaneous hand tools.
Total loss from the theft is $3000.00.
Stearns County Sheriff: Residential Burglary and Felony Theft
A burglary of an unattached garage was reported from a rural Rockville
home on 08-24-2008. The burglary is believed to have occurred sometime
overnight. Taken in the burglary were 2 Honda CRF50 mini dirt bikes,
numerous 18v DeWalt brand power tools with blue paint sprayed on them,
and two paintball guns. Total loss in the burglary is $6800.00
