Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of September 29, 2008
St. Cloud Police: Multiple
Burglaries and Thefts
On 10/01/08, at approximately 1800 hours, officers were dispatched to the
1400 block and 2900 block of Maine Prairie Road for multiple burglaries
and thefts.
Suspects in the thefts gained access to two garages through unlocked doors
and stole numerous items from the garages and vehicles.
Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to call the St.

Residents are reminded to make sure they lock their garages and vehicles
to prevent loss of personal items and damage to their property.
St. Cloud Police: Residential
Burglary and Theft
On 09/30/08 at approximately 2100 hours officers were dispatched to the
500 block of 11th Street South in reference to a burglary which occurred
between 1600 hours and 1630 hours.
Investigation revealed that an unknown person(s) entered the residence and
stole two laptops. Anyone with information regarding this incident is

St. Cloud Police: Business Burglary and Theft
On 09/30/08 at approximately 2120 hours, officers were dispatched to the
Holiday Inn, 75 37th Avenue South for a burglary.
Investigation revealed that a laptop computer had been stolen from a hotel
room on the evening of 09/30/08. The value of the computer was
approximately $2,000. There was no sign of forced entry into the hotel
room. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the

St. Cloud Police: Business Evacuation
On 10/01/08 at approximately 0007 hours officers with dispatched to
RumRunners bar, 102 6th Avenue South, for a welfare check.
Officers learned that shortly after midnight an unknown suspect had
deployed a can of mace on the dance floor. The bar was temporarily
evacuated while the St. Cloud Fire Department ventilated the business.
There were no serious injuries as a result of the mace being deployed.

St. Joseph Police – Multiple incidents of Vandalism and Criminal Damage to
Property
Police in are investigating numerous vandalism reports on an eight to nine
block stretch of Minnesota Street East. During the early morning hours of
September 29, 2008 Sixteen mailboxes, two real estate signs, one candidate
sign and landscaping lights were damaged overnight September 27th to the
28th. Person or persons also took mail from the some of the mail boxes and
threw it on the ground. Cost of these damages is approximately $1,400.00.
It was homecoming week end at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph
and nearby St. John's University. The event brought a lot of people to the
community. Police say they didn't know whether the vandalism was related
to homecoming.
St. Cloud Police:
Theft by Fraud
On 09/24/08 at approximately 1503 hours officers were dispatched to a
fraud complaint which had occurred in the 2800 block of Division Street
West.
A 73-year old resident of St. Cloud had been contacted by phone by a
person who told her that they were calling from her bank. This person
requested the victim to withdraw several thousand dollars from her account
and meet him at a local business. The victim was told that this money
would be used to catch an employee that was stealing from the bank and
that the money would later be returned to her account.
The victim turned over the money to the suspect described as a white male,
between 45 and 50 years of age, approximately 5'9" with a thin build. The
suspect had short dark brown thinning hair and a mustache.
The victim later discovered the suspect was not an employee of the bank.
The public should be reminded not to disclose any personal information
over the phone or the internet and should verify unsolicited phone request
through their bank.
