Crime Stoppers Open Cases for Week of February 16, 2009

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft

On 02/17/09 at approximately 0521 hours officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of University Drive Southeast for a burglary.

Investigation revealed that unknown male suspect(s) forced entry into the residence and stole three computers. Three residents were home at the time of the burglary. No one was injured during the burglary.

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft

On 2/17/09 at approximately 0400 hours, officers were dispatched to the 1600 block of University Drive S.E. for the report of a burglary.

Victims are 18 year old St. Cloud residents, who stated that while they were home in bed someone had entered their apartment and taken their Toshiba laptop and Casio electronic keyboard and left through the front door.

Investigation could find no evidence of forced entry on the front door, but the victims stated that at approximately 0357 hours they heard the front door close and when they got up to investigate they saw the kitchen light was on.

Left behind at the scene was a styrofoam human skull replica with a pentagram carved in the forehead and it is believed that the skull possibly came from another burglary somewhere else in the area.

St. Cloud Police: Stolen Vehicle

On 2/17/09 at approximately 0600 hours, officers responded to a stolen vehicle complaint in the 600 block of 12th Avenue North.

The victim, who is a 30 year old St. Cloud resident, stated that his 1998 white Chevy Cavalier, Minnesota license NPN-678, was taken from his driveway sometime between 0130 hours and 0600 hours on 2/17/09.

No suspect information is available at this time. Anyone with information is encouraged to call the St. Cloud Police Department at 251-1200 or Crime Stoppers at 255-1301.

Sherburne County Sheriff: Criminal Vehicular Homicide – Hit-and-Run (From week of 1-19-09)

The Sherburne County Sheriff is investigating a Criminal Vehicular Homicide – Hit-and-Run. The victim was struck by a motorized vehicle between the hours of 0630-0700 while crossing Highway 25 Big Lake to get his mail. The suspect vehicle left the scene and the victim was pronounced dead moments later.

The suspect vehicle is likely a truck or SUV style vehicle with damage probably to the front left corner, windshield and may have damage to the driver side rear view mirror. Due to the extent of the injuries sustained the suspect vehicle may have blood, hair or human tissue near the above mentioned areas. Our agency is requesting body shops and repair businesses to be aware and looking for any vehicles that may match the above information. We request the following counties to receive this information: Anoka, Benton, Isanti, Mille Lacs, Stearns, and Wright.
