St. Cloud Police: Possible Scam Alert
On 05/27/09 officers received a call regarding a
possible scam involving an online jewelry company named Danielle Janine
Jewelry.
Investigation revealed that customers buy a $9 necklace online and the
company then sends them other jewelry on a weekly basis and bil1s them $68
for each item sent. Upon checking the history of this company, numerous
complaints have been filed all stating the exact thing. Because the
company is actually mailing a product there is no fraud but rather
questionable business practice.
Residents are cautioned on doing business with this online company.
St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft
On 05/280/09 at approximately 0447 hours officers were dispatched to the
1700 block of 16th Street Southeast reference a burglary.
Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim, who stated sometime
between 0100 hours and 0430 hours On OS/28/09, unknown suspect(s) entered
the residence through a partially opened window and stole an Xbox and
other items.
Upon investigating the incident, it appears as though the victim may have
interrupted the burglary upon returning home.

St. Cloud Police: Robbery
On 05/23/09 at approximately 0016 hours, officers were dispatched to the
800 block of 15th Avenue Southeast, to investigate a robbery complaint.
Officers spoke with the 16 year old, female victim from St. Cloud. The 16
year old had been walking in the area of 7th Street Southeast and the
Highway 10 frontage road near St. Cloud Truck Salas on 05/22/09 between
2230 and 2300 hours.
At that location the female's purse was grabbed from behind by a white
male in his 30's. The suspect was wearing a wrinkled dark shirt, dark
jeans and white shoes. He had dark brown hair and i5 6'0" tall with a
"chunky" build. The suspect reached into the purse and removed $25. The
suspect dropped the purse and fled on foot towards Highway 10. The victim
did not receive any injuries from the incident.
St. Cloud Police: Robbery and Terroristic Threats
(Arrested 5-23-09)
On 05/20/09 at approximately 0123 hours officers were dispatched to 730
Highway 10 South, in reference to a robbery. Investigation revealed that
two black males had told a 21-year-old female that if she did not give
them the money she was obtaining from the ATM that they would kill her.
They then ripped the money from her hand and left the store on foot.
The first suspect was described as a black male, approximately 5'6" to
5'7", 200 to 210 pounds, in his mid to late 20s, with a bald head and a
mustache. The male was wearing a black shirt with white writing, denim
shorts, and black shoes.
The second suspect was a black male, approximately 6'0" to 6'1", 150 to
160 pounds, between 18 and 19 years of age, with short dark hair. The male
was wearing a black zip up hooded sweatshirt with dark pants and dark
shoes.
Update:
Through the course of the investigation, the suspect has been identified
as Marvin Gene Motten SR, born in 1968. Officers have established probable
cause to arrest and hold Motten for the charge of Robbery and Terroristic
Threats.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the St.

No other suspects are being sought in this crime at this time.
