Waite Park Police: Business Burglary and Theft

On 6/28/2009 Waite Park Police were called to Big Guy Cycle, 1120 Division Street, for a burglary complaint. The business was entered and tools, a welder, and a gun were taken from the business. The handgun is described as a Glock 36, .45 caliber. Forced entry was used to gain access to the business.

St. Cloud Police: Fraud Scam and Theft

On 06/29/09 at 1615 hours officers responded to the 1100 block of 21st Avenue North in regards to a fraud complaint. Upon arrival officers made contact with an 89-year-old female St. Cloud resident who stated she was contacted on today's date by telephone by an unknown male claiming to be security for US Bank.

The unknown male stated he was investigating the theft of $5,000 and needed the female to take $5,550 in cash from her account and meet him at JC Penney's so that he could use the bills to conduct an investigation.

The victim met the suspect at the store and gave him the money. Victim de5cribed the male as a 50 year old with a slight build, short haircut, wearing a blue ball cap.

The St Cloud Police Department has taken similar calls in the past and citizens should be aware of phone calls from individuals asking for bank account information or money. The public is asked to contact the St. Cloud Police Department if they have been the victim of a similar scam or have information on this most recent scam.

St. Cloud Police: Arson

On 06/29/09 at approximately 2029 hours Officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Northway Drive for an arson fire.

Investigation revealed that an unknown suspect had entered a building and had started a fire in the stairwell. The fire caused extensive damage to the carpeting and a door. No injuries were reported.

Waite Park Police: Found Property

Waite Park Police have two swan planters that were located in Waite Park. They would like to find the owner to give them back. Attached is a picture of the found property.

St. Cloud Police: 3rd Degree Assault, 1st Degree Burglary and Injuries

On 06/28/09 at approximately 2345 hours officers were dispatched to the 1500 block of Oak Grove Road Southwest reference an assault.

Investigation revealed a 38-year-old St. Cloud male was assaulted in the entry way of his house by two unknown males. The victim sustained severe lacerations to his face. No weapons were used in the assault. The victim was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

St. Cloud Police: 3rd Degree Assault with Injuries

On 06/28/09 at approximately 0444 hours officers were dispatched to the St. Cloud Hospital in reference to an assault.

Upon arrival officers made contact with the victim, a 19 year old resident of Crystal MN, who said that he attempted to break up a fight with his friends and another group of individuals at which point he was punched by a skinny black male who is approximately 6' 1”.

Due to the assault, the victim received substantial non life-threatening injuries and was treated at the St. Cloud Hospital.

St. Cloud Police: Suspicious Fire

The St. Cloud Fire Marshall is investigating this case as an arson. The Minnesota Arson Hotline is offering a reward of up to $2,000 for information leading to the arrest of the arsonist.

On 06/14/09 at approximately 1201 hours officers, along with St. Cloud fire Department, were dispatched to 1121 25th Avenue North in reference to a house fire. No one was inside the house at the time of the fire and no one was injured.

Investigation revealed the fire to be suspicious in nature and it is currently being investigated by St. Cloud Police and St. Cloud Fire Department.

Stearns County Sheriff: Outboard Motor Theft
 
On 6-28-09 @1922 hour, the Stearns County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to a theft of a dark blue 9.9 Evenrude boat motor. The complainant did not have a serial number. He thought it was approx a 1997 motor. It had aluminum rock guard on it that was 1'' diameter and 4'' deep.
 
The boat was on the lift on the Mississippi river. The lock and rope to the motor were cut. This happened between 06-25-09@1900 hours and 06-28-09 @1900 hours. No suspects at this time.
 
The value is $2,150.00 for the motor and rock guard. 

St. Cloud Police: Residential Burglary and Theft

On 06/25/09 at approximately 1736 hours, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Osseo Avenue North for a burglary.

Investigation revealed that between 0530 and 1645 hours on 06/22/09, someone entered the victim's residence and stole two rings off of a table. There were no signs of forced entry and nothing else was taken.

St. Cloud Police: Aggravated Robbery with Injuries (From Week of June 22, 2009)

On 06/24/09 at 1157 hours officers were dispatched to 10th Avenue South and 12th Street South in reference to a robbery complaint that occurred at 0130 hours.

Officers learned that a 22 year old resident of St. Cloud and a 25 year old male resident of St. Cloud were walking home from the downtown area when they were approached by three males. One of these males forcibly removed a cell phone out of the victim's hand in an attempt to steal it. The victim ultimately regained possession of his cell phone, but his companion was struck in the head by a second male.

The victim of the robbery was ultimately tackled to the ground and was repeatedly kicked in the head, neck, and body area by all three males.

The three males then fled the scene and entered into what was described as a 1998 to 2000 white Pontiac Bonneville. The victims could not provide any description of the suspects, other than being black males ages 18 to 22 years old.

Note: another black female was seen in 1he vehicle but no other description could be given. The victims received minor injuries requiring no medical treatment.
