The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal
Apprehension - Cold Case Unit in cooperation with "Spotlight on Crime" are
offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest
and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the murders of Mary and
Susan Reker in September 1974.

UNSOLVED MURDERS
SPECIAL REWARDS
In conjunction with local, state and federal law enforcement agencies,
Tri-County Crime Stoppers, Inc. is offering a special reward of “up to $
5,000.00”. This reward is for information leading to the arrest and
formal charging of the person or persons responsible for any of the
following unsolved murders in the Tri-County area.
Anyone with information on these crimes is urged to call Tri-County
Crime Stoppers at 255-1301. Outside the St. Cloud dialing area,
they should call 800-255-1301. Cellular 2000 customers might want
to use the St. Cloud number because it is toll free and airtime free for
them.
Callers are urged to call Tri-County Crime Stoppers with their
information, however, if they wish they may contact the local, state or
federal law enforcement agencies listed. To protect a caller’s
anonymity, only Tri-County Crime Stoppers, Inc. will handle any payment of
these special rewards.
Stearns County Sheriff:
MARY REKER and SUSAN REKER
On Labor Day weekend 1974, Mary Reker, age 15 and her sister Susan
Reker, age 12 left their family residence in the City of St. Cloud on foot
enroute to Zayre Shopper City where they told their parents that they
intended to do some school shopping. They never returned home and were
subsequently reported missing.
The department store, Zayre Shopper City no longer exists in the City
of St. Cloud. It was located at 33rd Avenue and Division Street, part
of a building now occupied by Circuit City.
On September 28, 1974 the bodies of Mary and Susan Reker were
discovered in a quarry area west of Waite Park. Both died as a result of
multiple stab wounds.
MYRTLE VERA COLE
On December 12, 1981 Myrtle Cole, age 81 was found dead as a result of
multiple stab wounds. She was found in a bedroom of her residence alone in
the community of Fairhaven. Law enforcement personnel believe that they
are in possession of evidence that will lead to the identity of the
suspect in this case.

ST. CLOUD POLICE:
HERBERT FROMELT, SR.
Information is wanted regarding Herbert Fromelt’s homicide on August
3, 1994. Mr. Fromelt was found in his home having died from stab wounds.
Law enforcement agencies and the family are requesting help in solving
this homicide of an 82 year old man.
CYNTHIA MAE SCHMIDT and RONNIE LEO BROMENSCHENKEL
On August 6, 1986 Cynthia Mae Schmidt, age 18 and Ronnie Leo
Bromenschenkel, age 26, disappeared from Riverview Trailer Court in St.
Cloud, MN. Neither Cynthia nor Ronnie have been seen since that time.
Investigators believe that both are dead and foul play was involved in
their deaths. Prior to their disappearance, both were involved in a
money-laundering scheme, which may have been a factor in their
disappearance.

UNITED STATES POSTAL INSPECTOR and FBI:
IVEND OLGAR HOLEN
The United States Postal Inspector and the FBI are asking the public’s
assistance in solving the Kimball Post Office bombing. An explosive device
was detonated at the Kimball Post Office on May 13, 1976, at approximately
6:30 A.M. Assistant Postmaster Ivend Olgar Holen, 60 years of age, died as
a result of the explosion.
The US Postal Inspection Service may pay a reward of “up to $
50,000.00” for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the mailing of the bomb in which an employee was
subsequently killed.
